OneCircle, the global leader in PET kegs, has built a market-leading position in Spain with a new production facility, a community of official resellers of KeyKeg and UniKeg and collection partners.
OneCircle's state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Guadalajara, which has the latest Lanfranchi blow moulding technology and equipment, as well as the latest automation and robotics technology, opened last year. It ensures that KeyKeg and UniKeg customers in the region receive the best possible service and technical support, with stock in market, a much shorter supply chain and reduced environmental footprint.
OneCircle has also built a community of official resellers which meet its strict criteria of sustainability, innovation, growth, efficiency and quality. Barcelona-based Agronet was the most recent to join the community. Its specialised brewery division provides a complete range of products, from malts and yeasts to kegs and brewing equipment, offering technical advice and high-quality customer service for breweries across Spain, Portugal and the South of France. Agronet's facility supports the large customer base of KeyKeg and UniKeg in Spain, as well as parts of Portugal and the South of France.
Bruni Glass Iberia also recently joined the OneCircle family. Operating across Europe, the company has a well-established service network in Spain, and allows for widespread coverage of the Iberian market. Its representatives are fully trained to fill, dispense and answer potential questions from customers and prospects, to ensure the high performance and service levels expected from KeyKeg and UniKeg.
Apiglass, which specialises in the sale glass packaging for food and beverages and the distribution of packaging machinery, was appointed as an officical reseller at the end of last year. It focuses on Spain as its core market, but also sells kegs to beverage producers in Portugal and the South of France.
BeerBox is one of the first to participate in the KeyKeg collection community in Spain – a vital step in fulfilling the circularity of raw materials used in the kegs. BeerBox is a distributor of beer and dispensing equipment in Spain and Portugal and is located in Barcelona and Madrid. It collects empty KeyKegs and UniKegs from its customers such as bars, restaurants and festivals in the Barcelona region which are then recycled for re-use in new kegs.
La Salve brewery in Bilbao has also joined the collection community. It will collect, sort and compact KeyKegs in the Basque region ready for recycling and reuse in the manufacture of new KeyKegs.
Annemieke Hartman, Chief Commercial Officer of One Circle, commented: "Spain is a strategic market for us with great growth potential. We have invested in state of the art production facilities to enable us to keep up with demand and ensure we offer customers the best possible service and flexibility, as well as identifying reseller partners which meet our strict criteria of sustainability, growth, efficiency and innovation who can support us in the growth journey. Introducing new collection partners also helps us ensure the circularity of our products."
Both KeyKeg and UniKeg are 100% recyclable and can be used in a circular way as raw material for new kegs. Currently, 30% of a KeyKeg and UniKeg is made from recycled material thanks to the collection and recycling projects established by OneCircle which operate alongside existing waste streams. There are now successful schemes in the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Spain, Ireland, Switzerland, France and Belgium, with more planned around the world.
The kegs provide significant sustainability benefits including reduced CO2 emissions and water use, and there's no need for harsh cleaning chemicals. OneCircle has also joined the Plastic Alliance and signed its declaration that its products meet the environmental criteria of the European Union so no additional tax needs to be levied on them.More information
